I know what you mean, I put in some background information which is S.A.W related with Sonia to who the previous winner for Ireland "Niamh Kavanagh" who bet her into second place! just In case nobody knows?

I,m fully aware it,s all about the song and it,s performance on the night and being a previous winner would,nt give anybody that advantage. Ireland could,nt get out of the semis in the last few years and one of them was a hand puppet?

known I,m a big fan of Mike Stock and his music. he did compose a good song for Josh and I,m not knocking it, Maybe I would have to listen to it a few times so that it will grow on me.

I heard he is working on remixing the song now he has the person singing it in mind?

Anyway, I will be voting for Josh regardless.

Hi Michael,
I wouldn't worry about Niamh Kavanagh entering again, even if she did win already. It's definately more about the song. Only Johnny Logan has won twice & both times he had the best song (technically he won 3 times as he wrote 1993 winner for Linda Martin also). Same for Sweden, they've re entered two of their past winners again, Carola & Charlotte Neilssen ,Charlotte being just last year. She ended up down the table & I think Carola ended up 4th on her second attempt so being a past winner doesn't give you any advantage. I usually listen to every entry prior to the contest & know them by heart come the big night but this year I'm not going to do that. I don't want to hear them till the final. Also don't forget we still have the semi-final to go yet. Ireland are not automatic entrants, they will have to qualify at the Semis to get in the final, something they've failed to do for a few years. Fingers crossed for Josh though. As each day passes I enjoy the song more & more.

UPDATE: Just listened to Niamh's entry Michael. I think it should definately qualify the Semis & deserves a good place in the final.

Hi Mike

Personally It,s an ok song?

Just want to let you know Josh is in competition with Niamh Kavanagh for ireland who bet Sonia into 2nd place back in 1993 for the UK, here is the irish entry...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OH5XorOdx0w

not just irelands entry but there are really good songs in the eurovision song contest 2010 which wont be voted highly enough like previous years since the tele voting came about? it feels like there is favourtism amongst other countries rather than the actual songs themselves? hopefully it will all change this year and may the best song win.

Hello Mike,

I love the song very much. The melody and lyrics are very positif and uplifting. The only thing I worry about is the production. I miss a stronger beat and bass-line. I miss high hats, piano tingling and cowbells. That's the only thing I want to say that could be a bit better. But I am very glad with the song. I hope there will be an album with Josh in the future.

Bye, bye

Johannes.

Good luck for tonight and may the best contestant win, well as long as it's Uni5. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Can't wait to hear a new Mike Stock composition. It's been a while.

Not long to wait now!

One thing I have noticed is that the BBC has finally mentioned Mike on their website - shame it's just a mention, though. Will you be on the TV show on Friday, Mike?

Good to see it's official and in the News on this site! I was beginning to wonder if it was just a rumour.

You are right. Sometimes a S.A.W. track sounds great live. I have been to a Kylie concert where she did some great S.A.W. tracks, like you said 'I should be so lucky'. I also have heard that the singers are unknown. What I don't understand is, that there are 6 performers. But will the song sound 6 times the same? Or did Mike Stock wrote ballad versions, dance versions or mid-tempo versions of the same song? We shall see 12 March. And I hope all 6 versions will be on c.d. Bye, bye.

Hi Johannes,

From what I read it's going to be an unknown singer. I'm not sure why you say that Mike Stock now has to write a song that sounds great live - I saw Kylie in concert and the Stock Aitken Waterman songs sound great live. The audience reaction to "I should be so lucky" was fantastic! And, for once, it was performed and sung like the single - perhaps that's why.

Looking forward to hearing this Eurovision song.

Hi Lulu. I know that Pete Waterman did not do 'Purified'. That was with Matt Aitken. I hope the singer that is gonna perform the song is someone we all know. Like Cliff Richard, Kim Appleby, Lonnie Gordon, Sinitta, or Rick Astley. That would be great. S.A.W. always wrote songs that sounded great on c.d. But now they have to write a song that sounds great live!!!!! I really hope it's a strong song. But I think that Mike Stock has hunderds of songs that he can choose from that never have seen the daylight.

Bye,

Johannes.

Surely Eurovision is what it is and there's no way everyone's going to be happy, happy, happy... (sorry for the cheesy joke, Johannes!) By the way Waterman didn't write "Purified", and from the comments read along the way I'm not sure of his input on the other songs, but anyway "Purified" was during Love This days (post-SAW).

Johannes, You're so right about needing a really good singer. Let's hope the voters choose the best one, and that all the contestants are up to it! Otherwise...

Crossed fingers. Best of luck, Mike (or should I say Best of British?!...)

Hello Mike,

I hope that you're gonna write and produce a song that's not too cheesy, like the fast food rockers or The Sheila's. Even though I like those songs very, very much. Cause I am a big fan of you're music. But I think that a more serious S.A.W. song like 'Make it easy on me', 'When love takes over you', 'Purified', 'Say I'm you're number 1', Beyond you're wildest dreams', will do better on the eurovision contest. I also hope that the singer is really good. Cause a strong performance is so important. You can have the best song out of all the other songs, but when the performance is bad, you have nothing. Good luck,

Johannes.
